Vitamin B12 Injections

Vitamin B12 Injections

Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient involved in red blood cell formation and normal neurologic function. Injectable vitamin B12 may be appropriate for patients with vitamin B12 deficiency or certain conditions that impair B12 absorption. Treatment is recommended only after an appropriate medical evaluation.

Vitamin B12 plays an important role in red blood cell formation, neurologic function, and DNA synthesis. Some individuals develop vitamin B12 deficiency because of inadequate intake, certain medications, gastrointestinal conditions, prior gastrointestinal surgery, or impaired absorption.

Injectable vitamin B12 may be recommended when clinically appropriate, particularly when deficiency is confirmed or suspected and oral supplementation may not be adequate.

At Vital Health & Aesthetics, treatment begins with a review of your medical history, symptoms, medications, and available laboratory results. Additional testing may be recommended when appropriate.

Vitamin B12 injections are not intended as a treatment for weight loss, dementia, anxiety, hypertension, or other unrelated medical conditions. Individual response to treatment varies.
